Since this is a new RP, we haven't frequently been asked anything. Here are a few starter questions, but feel free to ask more, we don't bite. If you can think of anything else we should add or rewrite, we more than welcome suggestions. We want to help.

What's up with this game?
Prescott Valley is a multifandom game however, not all fandoms will fit in with game canon. Centred around Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, most supernaturally/paranormally themed TV shows, books and video games will fit in. Some won't. Hex, for instance, while supernatural themed, is much more religious based than either Buffy or Charmed and therefore it'd be difficult to make the canon of both fandoms work. There are a list of fandoms up already, but more are always welcome. If you're unsure, ask a mod or submit a fandom application.

What if I have an idea for a non-supernatural fandom?
Generally the fandoms that will best fit into this game will have a supernatural premise. If you have an idea for a character and have a good reason for them to be there and how they'll fit in that is what's important. But characters that already have a supernatural background will be more likely to fit the mods' expectations. Again, if there's any questions, feel free to ask a mod, they don't bite!

When does the game take place?
The RL start date is set for March 28th, 2009, which in game will translate to March 28th 2008.

What's the deal with these journals?
One thing that Prescott Valley offers is city-wide free wifi. Along with this, a journal system has been set up on prescottvalley.com. Similar to journal systems on insanejournal or livejournal, the Valley's system doesn't have all the bells and whistles of those sites yet, but it's serviceable. Icons cannot be seen, but we would like them to be used in traditional PB style. Entries can be filtered to one person or a group of people, just as in real life. However, it has to be the WHOLE entry, not just part of it. Keep in mind also that journals can be hacked. If you filter an entry to Buffy, and she leaves her journal logged in somewhere or someone figures out her password, that entry can be read by them.

Can I play Edward from Twilight, or another vampire from another fandom?
NO GOD PLEASE NO If you like, but keep in mind that regardless of the quirks of those fandoms, all vampires must abide by the Buffy mythology, found here. Basically, all the standard vampire lore applies, including the fact that they can't go out in the sun, must be invited into a private residence, they can't sparkle and must be staked through the heart in order to be killed. Also, another thing to consider when choosing a character like that to play is that they are vampires and Buffy is a vampire slayer. You do the math.

Are journal comments and threads the only way characters can communicate?
Absolutely not! This is California, in the year 2008! There are cell phones, email and AIM, all of which may be used for communication. Feel free to have your character IM another character and post the log or, instead of, for instance having your character owl someone a la the Harry Potter fandom, have them text their friend. It's not necessary for the AIM screennames to be real, but all residents are given their own email when they create a journal, for instance, Piper Halliwell's email would be piper.halliwell@prescottvalley.com. AIM transcripts, emails and texts will be logged in the main comm as well as threads.

Why can't I use Billie Piper as my PB?!
No, we don't have a banned PB list. Yes, there are some PBs we don't want to see. We trust you to use your own judgement and make good choices. But if we really disagree we'll let you know when you apply and tell you why. Even help you look if you need it. We're open to things though so we don't feel the need for a list. That being said...one of the Mods is crazy and has a severe dislike of Billie Piper. Thus, she is the Banned PB List. Sorry!
